Welcome

Thank you for using the National Skills Academy (NSA) Health E-learning platform (previously named Skills for Health e-learning), where you can access our extensive portfolio of national core learning. This is the new design for our existing portfolio, providing you with access to the same range of high quality e-learning programmes as before. If you previously registered on the Skills for Health e-learning platform your existing login details will continue to work on this site.
For all your account requirements please see the sections below.
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR NHS ORGANISATIONS

National funding for our e-learning provision ceased on the 31st March 2015. Unfortunately, we are now required to charge organisations directly for this provision. Please Note: This does not affect Stand By Me and Positive Behavioural Support.

We're making changes!

The team are making some changes today (13th April) to the platform and while we have tried to minimise any impact on organisational managers, you may come across some teething problems.  We're working hard to rectify this today, and normal improved service will be up and running shortly!  Thank you for your patience.

Positive Behavioural Support

We are delighted to advise that we are now offering a course on Positive Behavioural Support which has been developed by  ABMU Health Board, the University of South Wales, NHS Wales Informatics Service, and Department of Health.

This course is free for all learners.

If you can not locate your organisation when registering for a new account, please contact the helpdesk at elearning@nsahealth.org.uk advising you would like access to this course.

Infection Prevention & Control

I am very pleased to advise that the much anticipated new version of Infection Prevention & Control will be live from Wednesday 3rd December.   The Skills for Health e-learning team has worked closely with the Department of Health to make considerable structural changes, along with a clearer alignment to the Core Skills Training Framework.  Description pages will highlight these changes.

Learners that have already started the existing courses will have until Wednesday 7th January to complete them.

Update: Equality, Diversity & Human Rights

We are pleased to advise that the new updates to this course will be made on Monday 3rd November.  This is in line with legislation changes as well as learner feedback, and is in our new templates, so flash free!  If you have already started the existing course, you will still be able to access it until 3rd December.

Equality, Diversity & Human Rights

We are excited to advise that we will be going live with changes to the Equality, Diversity & Human Rights course next week.  Changes are inline with legislation changes and feedback, and in our new templates.  Watch this space for more details!

New courses go live!

Please be advised that we are excited to announce that we are currently going live with new versions of Fire Safety, Health, Safety & Welfare, Moving & Handling; Patient Moving & Handling (previously part of the Moving and Handling course), and Immunisation and Vaccination.

If you have already started the existing course, you will still be able to access it until 5th September.

New Updates

We are in the process of updating the templates for some of our courses, and have taken the opportunity to make some valuable changes to them as we do so.

Changes coming soon include Conflict Resolution, Moving & Handling; Patient Moving & Handling; Fire Safety; and Health, Safety & Welfare.

Course title changes and Refresher periods

We have now completed the second stage of our alignment with
the National Core Skills Training Framework.  This has involved amending our courses with the course names and suggested refresh periods.

Your certification will reflect this change.  Full details of these can be discussed with your training and development department or with us on the helpdesk.

Welcome

We now have a brand new look to the platform!  This is the new design for our existing portfolio, providing you with access to the same range of high quality e-learning programmes as before. If you previously registered on the Skills for Health e-learning platform your existing log-in details will continue to work on this site.

High Standards for Elearning

Skills for Health have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure that we will be meeting the required standards of the Core Skills Framework that is now near completion. This means we will be bringing brand new e-learning courses on board including Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, Resuscitation, Information Governance and Conflict Resolution. As we already push ourselves to meet high standards, the key requirements in our existing courses are almost all already met, and we have existing high quality endorsements for these.
